Women Empowerment Cell, T.K.M.M. College in association with Fevicryl, Pidilite Industires Pvt Ltd. organized a workshop titled "Artist in Me" on 19th July, 2024 at Seminar Hall. The workshop aimed to empower women through artistic expression and creativity. It sought to provide a platform for participants to explore their artistic talents, build confidence, and foster a sense of community among women.
The programme commenced at 10.30 am with the inaugural session, presided over by Dr. S. R. Rajeev, Principal in-charge, T. K. M. M. College, Nangiarkulangara. After prayer by the College Choir, Smt. Savitha E V, convener, the women empowerment cell, extended a warm welcome to all the participants and distinguished guests. In his presidential address, Dr. S. R. Rajeev briefly embarked upon the importance of this workshop and future perceptions regarding this workshop. The workshop was inaugurated by Smt. Rekha Anilkumar, Fevicryl certified specialist, Pidilite Industries Ltd. Mr. Karthik Nair Central Head (Marketing), Pidilite Industries Ltd graced the occasion as a guest of honour. The inauguration was felicitated by Dr. Parvathy U, IQAC co-ordinator, T. K. M. M. College, Nangiarkulangara, and Pooja Prakash Godake, College union chairperson, T. K. M. M. College, Nangiarkulangara extended vote of thanks, and the inaugural function concluded at 11.30 am.

The Parent Teacher Association (PTA) meeting for second semester Zoology students (2023 admission) was held on July 10, 2024, at 2 PM in the Zoology seminar hall at TK Madhava Memorial College. Dr Sheela S, Head of the Department (tutor) welcomed all attendees comprising parents, principal, teachers and students. The principal, Dr SR Rajeev outlined the purpose of the meeting and emphasized the importance of collaboration between parents and teachers for the students' success. He also proposed a time table for effective learning for the upcoming second semester University examination. Dr Sheela S presented a detailed analysis of the first semester University examination result and class test marks of second semester. She highlighted the overall pass percentage, subject-wise performance, and. noted the high performers and areas needing improvement. Dr Jasmine Anand and Dr Moly B shared their observations on student performance and classroom behaviour. Teachers discussed common difficulties faced by students in specific subjects. They provided suggestions such as additional practice, focus on weak areas, and involvement in extracurricular activities to boost overall performance. Parents appreciated the detailed result analysis and feedback and expressed concerns regarding certain subjects where students struggled. They suggested regular parent-teacher interactions to monitor student progress. The meeting was a grand success with the participation of 18 parents out of 19. Dr Sheela S summarized the main points of the meeting and thanked everyone for their participation. Moreover, she reiterated the commitment to work together to ensure the academic success of students.
ANTI-DRUG AWARENESS
CLASS -VIMUKTI CLUB
An Anti-Drug Awareness class
was conducted by Vimukthi Club in association with NSS Unit of TKMM College on
09/07/2024 (Tuesday) at college seminar hall at 10.30 am. The programme commenced
with a solemn prayer by Makarand from IIBA English, setting a reflective tone
for the event.
Following the prayer,
the welcome speech was delivered by Smt. Remya V R, coordinator, Vimukthi Club.
She warmly welcomed the dignitaries, faculty, and students, emphasizing the
importance of awareness and proactive measures against drug abuse.
The Presidential Address
was given by Dr. S R Rajeev, Principal-in - Charge. In the address, he
highlighted the critical role of educational institutions in combating drug
abuse and fostering a healthy, drug-free environment for students.
The highlight of the
event was the inauguration and keynote address by Sri. Sunil Kumar C, Assistant
Excise Inspector, Excise Range Office, Kayamkulam. The Inspector's speech
focused on the legal implications, societal impact, and preventive measures
related to drug abuse. The keynote address was both enlightening and
motivational, urging students to stay vigilant and responsible.
Felicitation speeches
were given by Dr. Parvathy U, IQAC coordinator, Dr. Sheela, HOD, Department of
Zoology and Smt. Saranya Babu, NSS Programme Officer. Each speaker shared
insights on the psychological, social, and health aspects of drug abuse,
contributing to a comprehensive understanding of the issue.
The program concluded
with a vote of thanks by Sri. Sanoop Sivaraman, the NSS Programme Officer. He
expressed gratitude to all the participants, speakers, and organizers for their
contributions to the successful execution of the event.
Overall, the Anti-Drug
Awareness Program was a significant step towards educating and empowering
students from all the Departments to make informed choices and lead a drug-free
life.
