Anti- Ragging Awareness Program as part of Student's Well-being Programme -14 August 2025

As part of the Jeevani Student’s Well-being Programme, an Anti-Ragging Awareness session was conducted for the first semester Chemistry and Zoology students. The session aimed to create awareness about ragging, its harmful effects, and the steps students can take to prevent it. The discussion began with what ragging is—from verbal teasing to physical and psychological harassment—and why it is completely unacceptable in an educational environment. The reasons behind the prohibition of ragging were highlighted, including the need for safety, inclusivity, and mutual respect among students. Students were encouraged to reflect on the effects of ragging, such as emotional distress, anxiety, and academic disruption, and how it damages the overall campus atmosphere. The class also covered who to contact in case of ragging, such as the college Anti-Ragging Committee members, faculty advisors, and the national anti-ragging helpline. Clear steps were given on what to do if a student experiences or witnesses ragging—reporting immediately, offering support to the victim, and cooperating with the investigation. The session ended with a reminder that building a respectful community is everyone’s responsibility. By speaking up and standing together, students can ensure that the campus remains a safe, welcoming, and empowering space for all.
