On 10-01-2023, the Department of Economics in collaboration with IQAC organized a seminar as part of the Darshan Seminar Series. The topic of the seminar was People's Economics. Dr. R. Subhash was the Resource Person. (Senior Statistical Officer, National Sample Survey Organization, Kollam). People's Economics is an approach to understanding economics that focuses on how economic activities, decisions, and policies affect ordinary people, especially those from marginalized or low-income backgrounds. This perspective aims to highlight the impact of economic systems on the well-being and opportunities available to individuals, families, and communities.
The seminar has been inaugurated with a meeting, which was presided by Dr. P P Sharmila, Principal. Dr. Arun S Prasad, Head of the department of Physics and IQAC Co-ordinator made the welcome speech. Dr. Rajeev SR, Head of Department of Economics and NAAC co-ordinator as well as Dr. Sheela S, Head of the department of Zoology gave felicitations to the programme. Dr. R. Subhash, handled the technical Session. Participants include 134 students and more than 15 teaching staffs of the college.
