The Yuva College Union 2025–26 of T.K. Madhava Memorial College, Nangiarkulangara organized Film Fest 2026 on 15 July 2026 at the Seminar Hall. The event was conducted with the objective of promoting an appreciation for cinema as a medium of artistic expression, cultural awareness, and social reflection among students.

The Film Fest featured two screening sessions, with the first show held from 10.30 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. and the second show from 1.30 p.m. to 4.00 p.m. Students from various departments enthusiastically participated in the event, making it a vibrant and engaging campus activity.

Workshop on "Molecular Docking Made Simple" by The Postgraduate Department of Chemistry on 22nd June 2026

 

The Post Graduate Department of Chemistry, T. K. Madhava Memorial College, Nangiarkulangara organized a Workshop on "Molecular Docking Made Simple" on 22 June 2026 at the CADD Lab, Department of Chemistry, from 10.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. The workshop was conducted to provide participants with a practical introduction to molecular docking techniques and their applications in modern drug discovery.

The programme commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Aswathy S. P., Head of the Department and Workshop Coordinator, who welcomed the resource person and participants. She highlighted the growing importance of computational approaches in pharmaceutical research and emphasized the need for students to acquire hands-on skills in molecular modelling and docking. The workshop was aimed to give an introductory session for S5 FYUGP students and M.Sc. Chemistry students.

The technical session was handled by Dr. Sreeja V., Assistant Professor, S.N. College, Punalur. Through an engaging blend of theory and practical demonstrations, she introduced the fundamentals of molecular docking, ligand and receptor preparation, docking protocols, interpretation of binding interactions, and the significance of docking studies in structure-based drug design. Participants also gained hands-on experience using molecular docking software to perform basic docking simulations and analyze the results. About 18 students were able to complete the workshop.

The workshop concluded with an interactive discussion, during which participants clarified their queries and shared their learning experiences. Ms. Sonima V proposed the vote of thanks, expressing sincere gratitude to the resource person for her valuable guidance, the Principal, faculty members, organizing committee, and all participants for contributing to the successful conduct of the workshop. The programme proved to be highly informative and skill-oriented, equipping students with a strong foundation in computational drug discovery techniques.

Faculty Orientation Programme on "An Introduction to NAAC Binary Accreditation" organized by IQAC

 

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of T.K. Madhava Memorial College, Nangiarkulangara organized a Faculty Orientation Programme on "An Introduction to NAAC Binary Accreditation" on 14 July 2026 in the Seminar Hall. The programme was designed to equip faculty members with a clear understanding of the recently introduced NAAC Binary Accreditation framework and to prepare them for its effective implementation at the institutional level.

The inaugural session began with a welcome address by Dr. Aswathy S. P., IQAC Coordinator, who underlined the importance of quality assurance in higher education and stressed the need for collective faculty involvement in the accreditation process.

The keynote session was delivered by Dr. R. Raveendran, Former Principal, S.N. College, Varkala, UGC Emeritus Professor, and Special Officer (Academics), Sree Narayana Trusts, Kollam. He explained the philosophy behind the Binary Accreditation system, highlighting the major changes from the previous NAAC framework. The session covered the essential components of the new accreditation model, quality benchmarks, documentation practices, institutional responsibilities, and the evolving role of teachers in sustaining academic excellence. The interactive discussion enabled participants to clarify their queries regarding the new assessment process and quality indicators.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Divya S. Rajan, who acknowledged the valuable insights shared by the resource person and thanked the Principal, faculty members, and the IQAC team for their wholehearted support and participation. The orientation programme served as an effective platform for enhancing faculty awareness and strengthening the institution's preparedness for the upcoming NAAC Binary Accreditation process.

Student Orientation Programme on "Value Based Education & Indian Knowledge System" organized by IQAC

Madhava Memorial College, Nangiarkulangara organized a Student Orientation Programme on "Value Based Education & Indian Knowledge System" on 14 July 2026 at the Seminar Hall from 10.00 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. The programme aimed to familiarize students with the significance of value-based education and the rich heritage of the Indian Knowledge System in shaping responsible and socially committed citizens.

The programme presided by the Principal, Dr. Venu S commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Aswathy S. P., IQAC Coordinator, who welcomed the distinguished resource person, faculty members, and students. She highlighted the importance of integrating ethical values and indigenous knowledge into higher education to promote holistic development.

The session was led by Dr. R. Raveendran, Former Principal, S.N. College, Varkala, UGC Emeritus Professor, and Special Officer (Academics), Sree Narayana Trusts, Kollam. Through his insightful and inspiring presentation, he emphasized the relevance of value-based education in today's world and explained how the Indian Knowledge System contributes to intellectual, cultural, and moral development. He encouraged students to uphold values, preserve India's knowledge traditions, and apply them meaningfully in their academic and personal lives.

QUIZ PROGRAMME ON WORLD CUP FOOTBALL by DEPARTMENT OF MATHEMATICS ON 13th July 2026

 

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics, T.K. Madhava Memorial College, Nangiarkulangara, organised a World Cup Football Quiz Program on 13 July 2026 at 1:30 PM in the Seminar Hall. The event was open to all students of the college and witnessed enthusiastic participation. 40 students from various departments actively participated in the programme.

The program commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Sinumol S, Head of the Department, who welcomed the participants and highlighted the importance of sports and general knowledge. The quiz was conducted by Dr. Salu S., who served as the Quiz Master. The competition included questions on FIFA World Cup history, legendary players, memorable matches, host nations, and football records. The participants displayed excellent knowledge and sportsmanship throughout the event.

The prize distribution ceremony was conducted by the Principal, Dr. Venu S, who congratulated the participants and presented trophies to the winners. The Principal also appreciated the efforts of the organizers and encouraged students to actively participate in similar academic and co-curricular activities. The program concluded with a vote of thanks, marking the successful completion of the event.
