The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of
T.K. Madhava Memorial College, Nangiarkulangara organized a Faculty
Orientation Programme on "An Introduction to NAAC Binary
Accreditation" on 14 July 2026 in the Seminar Hall.
The programme was designed to equip faculty members with a clear understanding
of the recently introduced NAAC Binary Accreditation framework and to prepare
them for its effective implementation at the institutional level.
The inaugural session
began with a welcome
address by Dr. Aswathy S. P., IQAC Coordinator, who underlined
the importance of quality assurance in higher education and stressed the need
for collective faculty involvement in the accreditation process.
The keynote session
was delivered by Dr. R. Raveendran, Former Principal, S.N. College,
Varkala, UGC Emeritus Professor, and Special Officer (Academics), Sree Narayana
Trusts, Kollam. He explained the philosophy behind the Binary Accreditation
system, highlighting the major changes from the previous NAAC framework. The
session covered the essential components of the new accreditation model,
quality benchmarks, documentation practices, institutional responsibilities,
and the evolving role of teachers in sustaining academic excellence. The
interactive discussion enabled participants to clarify their queries regarding
the new assessment process and quality indicators.
