The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of T. K.
Madhava Memorial College, Nangiarkulangara organized a Student Orientation Programme on
"Value Based Education & Indian Knowledge System"
on 14 July
2026 at the Seminar Hall from 10.00 a.m. to
12.30 p.m. The programme aimed to familiarize students with the
significance of value-based education and the rich heritage of the Indian
Knowledge System in shaping responsible and socially committed citizens.
The programme presided by the Principal, Dr. Venu S commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Aswathy S. P., IQAC Coordinator,
who welcomed the distinguished resource person, faculty members, and students.
She highlighted the importance of integrating ethical values and indigenous
knowledge into higher education to promote holistic development.
The session was led
by Dr. R.
Raveendran, Former Principal, S.N. College, Varkala, UGC
Emeritus Professor, and Special Officer (Academics), Sree Narayana Trusts,
Kollam. Through his insightful and inspiring presentation, he emphasized the
relevance of value-based education in today's world and explained how the
Indian Knowledge System contributes to intellectual, cultural, and moral
development. He encouraged students to uphold values, preserve India's
knowledge traditions, and apply them meaningfully in their academic and
personal lives.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Divya S.
Rajan, who expressed sincere gratitude to the resource person
for his enlightening session, Principal, faculty members, students, and all
those who contributed to the successful organization of the programme. The
orientation programme was highly informative and well received by the
participants.
