Stepping into higher education brings exciting opportunities, but it also marks a significant period of personal and academic transition. To ensure its newest students are well-equipped to navigate this journey with resilience, Jeevani, the college’s dedicated student counseling and wellness cell, organized a specialized mental health awareness and interactive session specifically for the first-year students of the Department of English. The session took place on July 9, 2026, at 10:50 AM, introducing the freshers to the extensive emotional and psychological support systems available to them right on campus.
The Jeevani Counseling Cell—a vital initiative focused on the holistic well-being of the student community—led the session to break the stigma surrounding mental health and emphasize that emotional strength is just as crucial as academic performance.
During the interactive hour, the session focused on:
Navigating Transitions: Understanding the shift from school life to a college environment.
Stress & Anxiety Management: Identifying early signs of academic pressure and healthy coping mechanisms.
Utilizing Campus Support: Highlighting the presence of a safe, strictly confidential, and professional space on campus where students can seek guidance without judgment.
The first-year English students engaged warmly in the dialogue, discussing their expectations, challenges, and aspirations for their undergraduate years. By bringing this initiative directly into the department's classroom, Jeevani successfully reminded the students that they are never alone in their struggles and that the institution values their peace of mind just as much as their degrees.
