 Teachers: The Beacons of Positivity

(Organized by IQAC of TKMM College on 12 October, 2023)

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of TKMM College organized a one-day seminar on the topic "Teachers: Beacons of Positivity." The event, held in the Seminar Hall of TKMM College, brought together all faculty to explore the pivotal role of teachers in nurturing positivity within the education system.

The seminar commenced with a soulful prayer by Smt. Sarsha T S, setting a serene and focused atmosphere for the day's discussions. Dr. T Sreeja, the IQAC Coordinator, extended a warm welcome to all attendees, emphasizing the importance of fostering positivity among educators and students alike. Her words set the tone for the day's discussions. Dr. S R Rajeev, the Principal in Charge, delivered an insightful presidential address, highlighting the noble profession of teaching and the significant impact teachers have on shaping the future generation. His speech inspired the audience and provided a broader context for the seminar's theme. Dr. Tintu R introduced the keynote speaker, Dr. Rosamma Philip, emphasizing her vast experience and expertise in the field of education and positivity.

Dr. Rosamma Philip, Professor & Former Principal, Mount Tabor Training College, Pathanapuram, delivered an engaging keynote address, delving into the various aspects of positivity in education. She shared practical strategies for teachers to cultivate a positive mindset, manage stress, and create an encouraging learning environment. Her insights resonated with the audience, sparking lively discussions and introspection. Positivity in teaching is essential as it creates a conducive atmosphere for learning. Positive teachers inspire students to believe in themselves, embrace challenges, and develop resilience. They create a safe and supportive environment where students feel valued and empowered to explore, learn, and grow.

In recognition of her efforts, we presented Dr. Philip with a token of appreciation that embodies both sustainability and artistic ingenuity - a pen stand crafted from used pens. This unique pen stand is not just a simple desk accessory; it is a testament to our shared commitment to environmental consciousness. By repurposing discarded pens, we have created a functional and aesthetically pleasing item that reflects your own sense of responsibility and care for our planet.

Crafted with meticulous attention to detail, this pen stand showcases the seamless fusion of artistry and recycling. Each pen, carefully selected and arranged, tells a story of transformation - from disposable writing tools to a beautiful piece of art. The vibrant colors, intricate patterns, and innovative design elements exemplify the aesthetic sense and creativity.

Dr. M. Preeth expressed gratitude to all participants, speakers, organizers, and sponsors. She highlighted the enriching discussions and the collective commitment to fostering positivity in the education sector. Her vote of thanks acknowledged everyone's contribution to the seminar's success. Throughout the seminar, there were lively interactions among participants. Educators shared their experiences, challenges, and innovative approaches to promote positivity in classrooms. The interactive sessions fostered a sense of community and encouraged collaborative learning.

The "Teachers: Beacons of Positivity" seminar organized by IQAC of TKMM College proved to be an enriching and inspiring event. By exploring the vital role of teachers as beacons of positivity, the seminar not only celebrated the teaching profession but also provided valuable insights and practical strategies to create a positive and nurturing learning environment.

The event concluded with a sense of motivation and a renewed commitment among educators to continue their journey as positive influencers in the lives of their students.
