Career Orientation Programme on ‘Opportunities in 

Postal Department’

As a part of National postal week celebrations, Career Guidance, Counselling and Placement Cell of TKMM College in association with Postal Division Mavelikara and Department of Chemistry organized an awareness class on various job opportunities in Indian Postal Department at College Seminar Hall on 13^th October 2023.  Dr. Rajeev S.R., Principal in charge inaugurated the function which was presided by Dr. Smitha T.R., Head of the Department of Chemistry. Career Guidance, Counselling and Placement Cell co-ordinator extended warm welcome to the audience and HoD introduced the resource persons - Mr. Anil Dev, Inspector of Posts, Postal Division Mavelikara and Mr. Shambhu M.Nair, Development Officer, PLI.

Since Department of Posts (DoP) has been the backbone of the country’s communication and the most widely distributed postal network in the world, offers a number of job opportunities to aspirants. The resource persons discussed about the qualifications, vast possibilities and application procedures of job openings in DoP such as Inspector of Posts, Assistant Section Officer(CSS), Postmaster, Head Record Officer, Manager/ Head Sorting Assistant, Sorting Assistant, Postal Assistants, GDS etc. and also explained about Combined Graduate Level Examination. During the interactive session followed by the orientation class, audience has expressed positive comments. About 80 students have benefited from this session. The programme was concluded at 3 pm with vote of thanks by Mr. Rahul Devarajan, I Sem MSc Chemistry student.
