Health First: A Successful Mega Free Medical & Eye Camp Ahead of NOVARA '26

As a grand prelude to the highly anticipated college fest NOVARA '26, T. K. Madhava Memorial College in Nangiarkulangara took a remarkable step toward community welfare by organizing a comprehensive Free Medical and Eye Examination Camp.

Held on Friday, February 20, 2026, the college campus transformed into a bustling healthcare hub from 9:30 AM to 1:00 PM. The initiative, open to people of all age groups, was made possible through collaborative partnerships with two leading healthcare providers: Elemecs Multispeciality Hospital and Research Centre (Kayamkulam) and Sahara Eye Hospital (Mavelikara).

Partnering with Elemecs Multispeciality Hospital, the camp brought top-tier medical experts right to the campus. Attendees had the opportunity to consult specialists across various departments:

  • Orthopedics: Dr. Mahesh Satheeshkumar (Consultant Orthopedic, Robotic Joint Replacement & Sports Injury Specialist)

  • General Medicine: Dr. Sree Rekha S R (Comprehensive care for adults, chronic and lifestyle diseases)

  • Pediatrics: Dr. Shana A

  • Gynecology: Dr. Rajalakshmi R and Dr. Malavika S Panicker

To ensure a thorough health check-up, the camp provided a wide array of essential lab tests completely free of charge. The diagnostic services included:

  • Complete Blood Count (CBC)

  • Blood Pressure Monitoring

  • Random Blood Sugar (RBS)

  • Serum Cholesterol Test

  • Creatinine (Kidney Function Test)

  • Urine Examination

 Advanced Eye Care Clinic

In collaboration with Sahara Eye Hospital, a dedicated free eye examination clinic was set up. The clinic focused on advanced, patient-friendly eye care, educating attendees about painless, needle-free nano-surgery for cataracts that takes just 4 minutes.

To provide immediate value to the attendees, the eye camp also offered:

  • 10% discount on cataract surgeries.

  • 10% to 25% discount on spectacles purchased at the camp.

  • Convenient advance booking options for prescription eyewear.

The pre-fest medical camp was a resounding success, reflecting the core values of the T. K. Madhava Memorial College community. By prioritizing health and accessible care, the college not only set a positive and responsible tone for NOVARA '26 but also made a tangible, healthy impact on the local community.
