Bidding Adieu to Pillars of Our Institution: A Memorable Farewell Hosted by 'Madhavam'

On Thursday, May 14, 2026, the Seminar Hall at T.K. Madhava Memorial College, Nangiarkulangara, was filled with warmth, gratitude, and a touch of nostalgia. The 'Madhavam' Alumni Association organized a beautiful farewell ceremony to honor two esteemed members of our college community who are stepping into their well-deserved retirement.

The event celebrated the decades of service and dedication of:

  • Prof. (Dr.) S. Sheela, Head of the Department of Zoology

  • Smt. Rajalakshmi P.R., Office Superintendent

Highlights of the Ceremony

The program commenced at 11:00 AM with a solemn prayer, setting a respectful tone for the day. It was a gathering of current staff, former colleagues, and alumni who came together to share memories and express their appreciation.

The formal proceedings featured several key addresses and traditional honors:

  • Welcome Address: Delivered by Prof. Srimon P., Secretary of Madhavam.

  • Presidential Address: Given by Sri. B. Ravikumar, President of Madhavam.

  • Inauguration & Gift Presentation: Led by Sri. S. Salikumar, Convenor, RDC.

  • Keynote Address: Dr. Venu S., Principal of TKMM College, shared insightful words reflecting on the honorees' enduring impact on the institution.

Honoring Their Legacy A highlight of the morning was the traditional honoring of the retirees. Prof. C.M. Lohithan (Former Principal & Patron of Madhavam) presented a portrait of Gurudeva, while Dr. S.B. Sreejaya (Former Principal & Patron of Madhavam) led the beautiful Ponnada ceremony, draping the honorees as a mark of highest respect.

Following warm felicitations by Sri. Sunil Kochereth and Sri. N.S. Sajikumar, both Prof. Dr. S. Sheela and Smt. Rajalakshmi P.R. took the stage to deliver heartfelt reply speeches, reflecting on their journeys and the bonds forged over the years.

A Lasting Bond

The formal event concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Sri. Mukesh M. Afterward, the teaching and non-teaching staff gathered for a grand group photograph—a beautiful snapshot of the unity and camaraderie that defines our campus.

We extend our deepest gratitude to Prof. (Dr.) S. Sheela and Smt. Rajalakshmi P.R. for their tireless service, guidance, and the countless ways they have enriched the college. We wish them a joyful, healthy, and peaceful retirement!
