 SHE (Sustainable Health Enhancement) Medical Campaign: Nurturing Women’s Wellness

    The “SHE (Sustainable Health Enhancement) Medical Campaign” held on October 16, 2023, in the College Auditorium of TK Madhava Memorial College, was a significant event designed to promote women’s health and wellness. Organized by the collaborative efforts of the Women’s Cell of TK Madhava Memorial College, the Ayush Homeopathy Department, Government of Kerala, and the Haripad Municipality, the campaign was conducted as part of the golden jubilee celebrations of the Ayush Homeopathy Department, which was established in 1973.



    The event was inaugurated by the esteemed Haripad MLA, Sri. Ramesh Chennithala, who emphasized the importance of women’s health and well-being in the community. His presence added prestige to the event and underlined the significance of the SHE Medical Campaign.

    Several experienced medical professionals took part in the campaign to provide health check-ups and expert advice. This included:

Dr. Deepa A S, Medical Officer, Govt; Homeo Dispensary, Harippad, who has led the health campaign.

Dr. Sini S, Medical Officer, Govt. Homeo Dispensary, Karuvatta, who specialized in addressing menstrual health concerns.

Dr. Sunil S, Chief Medical Officer of Muthukulam, who shared insights on managing menstrual complaints.

Dr. Divya, who provided valuable guidance on stress management, a critical aspect of women’s overall health.

    A total of 48 participants had the opportunity to receive health check-ups and personalized advice from these medical professionals. The collaborative effort of the Ayush Homeopathy Department, Government of Kerala, and Haripad Municipality, in conjunction with the college, extended a helping hand to women in the community, nurturing their well-being and ensuring their access to valuable healthcare resources.





    The “SHE (Sustainable Health Enhancement) Medical Campaign” not only provided health check-ups but also served as a platform for education, support, and empowerment for women in the community, emphasizing the importance of their health and wellness. This event underscored the significance of proactive measures in promoting women's health and was a pivotal step in ensuring their overall well-being.


 Empowering Women’s Health - SHE (Sustainable Health Enhancement)

    On October 16, 2023, the “Empowering Women’s Health - SHE (Sustainable Health Enhancement)” event took place at the College Seminar Hall of TK Madhava Memorial College. It was organized jointly by the Women’s Cell of TK Madhava Memorial College, the Ayush Homeopathy Department, the Government of Kerala, and the Haripad Municipality.

    The event was inaugurated by Sri. Ramesh Chennithala, the Haripad MLA, and it was presided over by Sri K M Raju, Chairman of the Haripad Municipality. This event, organized in relation to the golden jubilee celebrations of the Ayush Homeopathy Department, aimed to empower women by addressing critical health issues and providing them with valuable insights and information.


















    The event began with invocation (Daivadashakam) by Women’s Cell convener, Smt. Sarsha T S, followed by a keynote address by Smt. Subhi Prajith, Vice-Chairperson, Haripad Municipality. Smt. Subhi Prajith emphasized the importance of sustainable health enhancement for women in the community.

    Dr. Princi Sebastian, District Medical Officer, Homeo, Alappuzha, presented an insightful and comprehensive overview of the SHE campaigns, highlighting its significance and goals in promoting women’s health.

 Ignite Talk on “Midjourney: Bridging Posthumanism and AI for Creative Revolution”


On the 1st of October 2023, Sarsha TS, an AI artist and Assistant Professor of English at TK Madhava Memorial College, Alappuzha, delivered an enlightening and thought-provoking Ignite talk at the Virtual International Conference on Posthumanism and Digital Humanities titled "Future Human: Digital Frontiers in Posthumanist Discourse." This conference, organized by the All India Forum for English Students, Scholars, and Trainers (AIFEST), aimed to bring together scholars, researchers, and practitioners from around the world to explore the intersection of posthumanism and digital humanities. Sarsha TS's talk was a highlight of this intellectually stimulating event.




Sarsha TS's talk, titled “Midjourney: Bridging Posthumanism and AI for Creative Revolution” was a highlight of the conference. In her presentation, she delved into the fascinating realm where technology and human creativity converge. The talk was a captivating journey through the transformative potential of AI in the context of posthumanism. She began by elucidating the foundations of posthumanism, a philosophical perspective that challenges conventional notions of human existence and identity. She artfully wove together the concepts of posthumanism with the burgeoning field of artificial intelligence, illustrating how AI is reshaping our understanding of creativity, communication, and the very essence of being human.

Throughout her talk, Sarsha drew upon her experience as an AI artist to emphasize the synergy between human creativity and AI. She presented compelling examples of AI-generated art and literature, showcasing the innovative ways in which technology is augmenting human expression. Her insights into the implications of AI in the creative arts shed light on the possibilities for a creative revolution.

He attended a meeting held on October 3, 2023. The purpose of this meeting was to discuss and plan the implementation of a four-year undergraduate (UG) program at the University of Kerala.

As a part of National postal week celebrations, Career Guidance, Counselling and Placement Cell of TKMM College in association with Postal Division Mavelikara and Department of Chemistry organized an awareness class on various job opportunities in Indian Postal Department at College Seminar Hall on 13th October 2023.  Dr. Rajeev S.R., Principal in charge inaugurated the function which was presided by Dr. Smitha T.R., Head of the Department of Chemistry. Career Guidance, Counselling and Placement Cell co-ordinator extended warm welcome to the audience and HoD introduced the resource persons - Mr. Anil Dev, Inspector of Posts, Postal Division Mavelikara and Mr. Shambhu M.Nair, Development Officer, PLI.






Since Department of Posts (DoP) has been the backbone of the country’s communication and the most widely distributed postal network in the world, offers a number of job opportunities to aspirants. The resource persons discussed about the qualifications, vast possibilities and application procedures of job openings in DoP such as Inspector of Posts, Assistant Section Officer(CSS), Postmaster, Head Record Officer, Manager/ Head Sorting Assistant, Sorting Assistant, Postal Assistants, GDS etc. and also explained about Combined Graduate Level Examination. During the interactive session followed by the orientation class, audience has expressed positive comments. About 80 students have benefited from this session. The programme was concluded at 3 pm with vote of thanks by Mr. Rahul Devarajan, I Sem MSc Chemistry student.

 Launch of Magazine "I.N.D.I.A." by Charithram College Union

Charithram College Union is delighted to launch its much-awaited magazine, "INDIA," on the 12th of October 2023, at TKMM College auditorium.The event is a celebration of literary and artistic expression, showcasing the talents and creativity of the students at TKMM College.

"INDIA," the brainchild of Charithram College Union, is a testament to the diverse voices and perspectives that make up the cultural fabric of our nation. This magazine is a mosaic of poetry, prose, art, photography, and articles, carefully curated to reflect the rich heritage and contemporary essence of India. It encapsulates the creativity, intellect, and enthusiasm of the students, making it a must-read for anyone passionate about literature and culture.

The event was kicked off with an inaugural ceremony, graced by eminent personalities from the literary and academic spheres. The august function was presided over by Ms. Sivapriya S., Chairperson, College union.

Ms. Deepthi Devarajan, Magazine Editor, welcomed the audience. The highlight of the event was the official unveiling of "INDIA." The first copies of the magazine was revealed by Sri. Naufel N. a renouned writer and orator, symbolizing the culmination of months of hard work, creativity, and dedication put in by the students and faculty advisors. Keynote address was rendered by Dr. Rajeev S R, the function was felicitated by Dr. S. Sheela (Staff Association Secretary), Sri. Sanoop Sivaraman (Union Advisor), Sri. Peethambaran R. (Office Superintendent). The function came to a delightful end by vote of thanks delivered by Sri. Muhammed Sajid Shaukath (College Union General Secretary).




 Teachers: The Beacons of Positivity

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of TKMM College organized a one-day seminar on the topic "Teachers: Beacons of Positivity." The event, held in the Seminar Hall of TKMM College, brought together all faculty to explore the pivotal role of teachers in nurturing positivity within the education system.

The seminar commenced with a soulful prayer by Smt. Sarsha T S, setting a serene and focused atmosphere for the day's discussions. Dr. T Sreeja, the IQAC Coordinator, extended a warm welcome to all attendees, emphasizing the importance of fostering positivity among educators and students alike. Her words set the tone for the day's discussions. Dr. S R Rajeev, the Principal in Charge, delivered an insightful presidential address, highlighting the noble profession of teaching and the significant impact teachers have on shaping the future generation. His speech inspired the audience and provided a broader context for the seminar's theme. Dr. Tintu R introduced the keynote speaker, Dr. Rosamma Philip, emphasizing her vast experience and expertise in the field of education and positivity.









Dr. Rosamma Philip, Professor & Former Principal, Mount Tabor Training College, Pathanapuram, delivered an engaging keynote address, delving into the various aspects of positivity in education. She shared practical strategies for teachers to cultivate a positive mindset, manage stress, and create an encouraging learning environment. Her insights resonated with the audience, sparking lively discussions and introspection. Positivity in teaching is essential as it creates a conducive atmosphere for learning. Positive teachers inspire students to believe in themselves, embrace challenges, and develop resilience. They create a safe and supportive environment where students feel valued and empowered to explore, learn, and grow.

In recognition of her efforts, we presented Dr. Philip with a token of appreciation that embodies both sustainability and artistic ingenuity - a pen stand crafted from used pens. This unique pen stand is not just a simple desk accessory; it is a testament to our shared commitment to environmental consciousness. By repurposing discarded pens, we have created a functional and aesthetically pleasing item that reflects your own sense of responsibility and care for our planet.

Crafted with meticulous attention to detail, this pen stand showcases the seamless fusion of artistry and recycling. Each pen, carefully selected and arranged, tells a story of transformation - from disposable writing tools to a beautiful piece of art. The vibrant colors, intricate patterns, and innovative design elements exemplify the aesthetic sense and creativity.

Dr. M. Preeth expressed gratitude to all participants, speakers, organizers, and sponsors. She highlighted the enriching discussions and the collective commitment to fostering positivity in the education sector. Her vote of thanks acknowledged everyone's contribution to the seminar's success. Throughout the seminar, there were lively interactions among participants. World Mental Health Day Observance

    On Tuesday, October 10th, as part of the Mental Health Day observances, we gave the psychometric assessment, Beck's Depression Inventory at the college level to determine the prevalence of depression among college students.

    Students were given access to the assessment tool via Google Forms.

    As is widely known, one of the primary variables influencing the current mental health of the population in Kerala is depression. It is clear from the data that youth depression is common. With the use of this college-level evaluation, we want to pinpoint the factors that contribute to depression among the college students in this college and intend to create an intervention strategy specifically for this population.

    After compiling all the results, we have to analyze the tool's sub-domains and design a thorough intervention approach.

 Certificate Course In Gst, Taxation And Tally Prime Software

PG Department of Commerce (12 October 2023)

    PG Department of Commerce in Association with SG Academy & Associates one day orientation programme on 12/10/2023 at 10. Am at seminar hall and was inaugurated by Dr. S R Rajeev ( Principal in Charge )

    S G Academy is a pioneer in providing practical orientation training classes in Tally, GST and income tax without any monetary benefit. C M A Shibu Gopi was the resource person for the session, he demonstrated the students with the benefits of practising learning these software. Duration of this certificate programme is 120 hour online and offline made class with 60 hour online theory class. Students enthusiastically attended the orientation class and expressed there willingness to join the certificate course. Session concluded at 1 pm by delivering vote of thanks by Mr. Sanoop Sivaraman Assistant Professor, Dept of commerce.

 Democracy - Scientific Awareness

Kerala Sasthra Sahithya Parishad (KSSP) in association with zoology dept of T.K.Madhava Memorial College,arranged  a seminar on "Democracy - Scientific Awareness,"  was held on October 5, 2023, at the Seminar Hall of TKMMC.

The Kerala Sasthra Sahithya Parishad (KSSP) is a prominent science and literature organization based in the Indian state of Kerala. Established in 1962, it is known for its significant contributions to the popularization of scientific knowledge among the masses, especially in the Malayalam-speaking region. KSSP is involved in various activities like organizing seminars, workshops, and campaigns to promote scientific awareness and critical thinking. It has played a crucial role in bridging the gap between scientific research and the public, making science more accessible and relevant to everyday life. Additionally, KSSP has been at the forefront of advocating for sustainable and socially responsible science policies. Over the years, it has emerged as a leading force in the realm of science communication and education in Kerala.

 The seminar commenced with a warm welcome address by Dr. S. Sheela, who extended her heartfelt greetings to all attendees and emphasized the importance of scientific awareness in fostering a democratic society. She highlighted the role of education and knowledge dissemination in this context.

The inaugural session was presided over by Prof. P. K. Raveendran, who illuminated the audience with his insightful perspectives on the interplay between democracy and scientific knowledge. His inaugural address set a thoughtful tone for the subsequent sessions.

Dr. Ratheesh Krishna, the distinguished resource person, captivated the audience with his profound insights into the intricate relationship between democracy and scientific awareness. His presentation shed light on the pivotal role science plays in shaping democratic societies.

 The event witnessed the gracious presence of several esteemed dignitaries, including Dr. P. P. Sharmila, the Principal of TKMMC, and Dr. S. R. Rajeev, representing the AKPCTA. Their valuable presence added a distinct stature to the occasion.The seminar saw enthusiastic participation from students across various disciplines, demonstrating their keen interest in the intersection of democracy and scientific knowledge.A total of 126 participants including public was present. Their active involvement enriched the discussions and added vitality to the event.









        The seminar on "Democracy - Scientific Awareness" was an unquestionable success. The event provided a significant platform for intellectual exchange and reflection on the vital role of scientific knowledge in democratic societies.
