Observation Of Reading Week
Department of Zoology (June 23, 2023)
Reading books is not only
limited to academics, as they help children grow, evolve, inculcate important
values like morality, and empathy, expand their vocabulary, increase social
interaction and most importantly, become
good people. The day is a tribute to the effort of PN Panicker to transform
society with his literacy movement in India.
As a part of reading
week, the Department of Zoology donated five copies of EUREKA magazine, (published by Kerala Sastra Sahitya Patishat)
and the receipt of annual subscription
of five magazines, to the
students of Mohammadan LP School Arattupuzha, Alappuzha on June 23rd 2023. Our
principal Dr.P P Sharmila. presided over the function. The school Head Mistress
Smt. Jaya PV welcomed the gathering. The presence of all the students and
teachers of the school enriched the programme. Dr. Sheela S, Dr Jasmine Anand,
Dr. Vinod Haridas and student representatives of the Department attended the
gracious occasion. We entrusted four students from the department to conduct
monthly quiz on the basis of the magazine of the month concerned. The students
were so enthusiastic to get the magazine.
Kumari Mitra Manoj expressed the vote of thanks.
