On
November 14, 2023, the Kerala State Health Department, in collaboration with
the Health Club and NSS unit of T.K. Madhava Memorial College Nangiarkulangara,
organized an HIV awareness program featuring the renowned Kathaprasangam
artist, Smt. Zeenath Pallikara. The event took place at the college auditorium
and aimed to provide informative and motivational insights into HIV awareness.
Smt.
Zeena Pallikara, a celebrated Kathaprasangam artist, delivered a powerful and
informative message on HIV awareness through her art form. Her performance not
only captivated the audience but also effectively conveyed the significance of
understanding and preventing HIV. Through the medium of Kathaprasangam, she
engaged the audience, spreading awareness in an engaging and memorable manner.
The program saw the active participation of Smt. Sreedevi, Health Inspector (Cheppad Health Centre), who provided valuable insights into the current health scenario, emphasizing the importance of awareness and prevention of HIV. Her presence added a practical and professional dimension to the event.
The
entire program was efficiently coordinated by the Health Club and NSS unit of
T.K M M College. NSS Program Officer, Sir. Sanoop Sivaraman, extended a warm
welcome to the gathering, setting a positive tone for the event. The
coordination ensured a smooth flow of the program, allowing for maximum
engagement and participation. The event was graced by a felicitation from
Sreejith R. Krishnan (NSS Program Officer), acknowledging the efforts put in by
all stakeholders towards spreading HIV awareness. Dr. Jasmine Anand, Health
Club Coordinator, expressed a heartfelt vote of thanks, appreciating the
collaboration and the valuable contributions from the guests and participants.
The
program saw enthusiastic participation from all students, members of the health
club, and second-year students (50 Students), demonstrating the success of the
event in reaching the college community. The interactive nature of the
Kathaprasangam performance ensured that the message resonated effectively with
the audience.
The
HIV awareness program at T.K MM College Nangiarkulangara proved to be a
successful and impactful initiative. The collaboration between the Kerala State
Health Department, Health Club, and NSS unit, along with the participation of
Kathaprasangam artist Smt. Zeena Pallikara and Health Inspector Smt. Sreedevi,
contributed to creating a holistic and engaging awareness session. Such events
play a crucial role in educating and sensitizing communities about important
health issues, fostering a sense of responsibility and awareness among the
youth.
