Feeding Hope: Nourishing Lives - TKMM College NSS and ACCOK Collaborate for a Hunger-Free Haripad

    In a compassionate initiative to combat hunger and foster community well-being, the NSS unit of T.K. Madhava Memorial College, in partnership with the Association of Charitable and Cultural Organizations of Kerala (ACCOK) Haripad, embarked on a remarkable project known as the "Free Meals Project." This endeavor aims to alleviate hunger and make Haripad a place where no one goes to bed hungry.

    Core mission of the project revolves around distributing free food kits, known as pothichor, within the Haripad town. To facilitate this noble cause, a food alamara or shelf was thoughtfully positioned near the Government General Hospital. Daily, volunteers from ACCOK take it upon themselves to replenish the shelf with freshly prepared meals, serving approximately 100 to 150 individuals each day. It's a heartwarming testament to their dedication that this altruistic project is now approaching its 1000th day of service.

    On the 3rd of November 2023, the NSS volunteers of TKMM College played an instrumental role in this humanitarian effort. They generously stocked the food alamara with a hundred meals, ensuring that those in need would have access to a nourishing meal. Not only did they restock the alamara, but these compassionate volunteers also took the extra step of personally distributing meals to the less fortunate, creating a direct and meaningful impact on the lives of the community members.

    This initiative is a beacon of hope, embodying the spirit of compassion and solidarity. The program's title, "Feeding Hope: Nourishing Lives," aptly captures the essence of this benevolent undertaking. By collaborating with ACCOK, the NSS unit of TKMM College is making significant strides towards a Hunger-Free Haripad, a goal that aligns perfectly with the values of community, compassion, and collective well-being.

    The successful execution of this program was made possible under the invaluable guidance of NSS program officers, Mr. Sanoop Sivaraman and Dr. Sreejith Krishnan, whose unwavering dedication and leadership played a pivotal role in its achievement.
