 Kerala Piravi Day Celebrations at T.K. Madhava Memorial College, Nangiarkulangara


    On November 1, 2023, T.K. Madhava Memorial College in Nangiarkulangara, Kerala, came alive with vibrant festivities as it celebrated Kerala Piravi Day, the birth of the beloved state of Kerala. The day was marked by an array of captivating programs that resonated with the spirit of love and admiration for Kerala.







    The celebration commenced with a procession that saw enthusiastic participation from every department, culminating in a gathering in front of the college at 11 AM. Dr. S.R. Rajeev, Head of the Department of Economics, graced the occasion with a brief yet profound talk on the significance of Kerala Piravi Celebrations. His words set the tone for the day's festivities, emphasizing the importance of cherishing the cultural and historical heritage of Kerala.




    Students from all departments showcased their talents and love for their state through various captivating performances, including Thiruvathira, group songs, group dance, and Mimicry. The highlight of the day was the engaging Oru Nimisham competition, where students were challenged to speak in Malayalam for one minute on a selected subject. Sreya from the Department of English emerged as the winner of this competition, with Pavithra from the Department of Zoology securing the second prize. The participants, one and all, were recognized and encouraged with prizes, adding an element of healthy competition and celebration.




    In the group song performance, Arunima S, Nandhitha Radhakrishnan, Amritha Joseph, Chaithanya, and Lekshmi S from S3 Mathematics showcased their melodious talents.

    For the Oru Nimisham competition, Anandu B presented on the topic Oonakhosham with his captivating insights, while Pridhwy P.M, a student from S1 Mathematics, spoke passionately about Naadanpaattu.



The day's festivities left a lasting impression on all who attended, serving as a beautiful reminder of the deep-rooted connection between the people of Kerala, their mother tongue, and their beloved motherland. It was a day to reflect, honor, and celebrate the rich cultural tapestry and traditions that make Kerala truly unique.
