 Nallassalu Kappem Mulakum: A Culinary Journey Through Kerala's Traditional Delights

    The Department of Mathematics at T.K.M.M College, Nangiarkulangara, orchestrated a gastronomic extravaganza under the banner of 'Nallassalu Kappem Mulakum.' This vibrant event was hosted in the the front courtyard of the TK Madhava Memorial College on the 3rd of November 2023, at 11.30 a. m.




    The essence of Kerala's cultural identity is inextricably intertwined with its traditional cuisine. An amalgamation of flavors and aromas, Kerala's culinary heritage is a profound reflection of its history and culture. Kerala’s cuisine is a testimony to the merger of its geographical attributes, climate, and rich trade relations with distant lands.

    The Department of Mathematics seized the opportunity to celebrate Kerala's traditional fare, offering a captivating journey into some of the state's most renowned culinary treasures. Their initiative was a resounding success, resonating with the heart and soul of Kerala's social and cultural traditions.





    The food fest, aptly named Nallassalu Kappem Mulakum, was held in the courtyard of the college, embodying the spirit of 'Keraleeyam,' a program initiated by the Govt. of Kerala in conjunction with Kerala Piravi. Dr. Rajeev S. R, The Head, Department of Economics, inaugurated the event, setting the stage for a delightful exploration of Kerala's culinary roots.

    The focal point of the program was a showcase of traditional Kerala dishes, including kappa (tapioca), mulak (fish), and chukkukappi (ginger coffee). Remarkably, these delectable dishes were prepared and served by the students themselves. Each dish served not only tantalized the taste buds with its delicious and unique flavors but also narrated a tale of Kerala's rich culinary heritage.

    The event was met with resounding success as a multitude of students and teachers congregated to savor these culinary treasures. Beyond a mere feast, it served as a valuable learning experience for the student organizers, providing them with essential entrepreneurial skills. The process of organizing and executing the event instilled lessons in teamwork, collaboration, and creativity.
