Study tour to Goa conducted from January 11 to January 15 , 2023 by the Department of English, T K Madhava Memorial College, Nangiarkulangara.


        

    A study tour was conducted by the department of English, in collaboration with the department of Physics, to Goa from January 11 to January 15, 2023.Twenty six  students and two faculties from the department of English and twenty  students and two faculties from the department of Physics participated in this journey. It was undertaken by the Saga Tour Package to Goa 



    A total of two days from the five day trip was attributed to the travel to destination as well as back to the starting point. The teaching faculties from the department of English were Ms. Remya V S , Assistant professor and Ms. Devi Viswaraj , Assistant professor on Contract and that from the department of Physics were Mr  Sreejith Krishnan , Assistant professor and Mr Harkishal , Assistant Professor on Contact. The first day was dedicated for the train travel to the destination , started from the Kayamkulam Railway Station.



    The second day kick started with logging in the hotel and subsequent journey to the Aguada fort after the breakfast.This historical building ,with its aesthetics landscape ,proved to one of the prime places to visit amid the scorching heat of the summer sun. The next visit was to the lower Aguada fort with its sea hugging periphery besides the Singuerin beach .The beach with stones extending to the sea provided a refreshing place to sit and enjoy the ethereal landscape.The  sunset of the day was captured ,as if in a canvas, from the Baga Beach.The sight of the toddlers making sand castles and collecting sea shells  and a lighthearted handicapped tourist sitting in the shore to carry the waves on the lap with greater joy and laugh despite her caretakers' doubts- had the potential to make anything think that "these are the moments worth living for!"



    The pubs facing the seashore opened a world of purely carefree life like shots were poured into the glasses, the music got poured into the hearts and transformed into frenzy dance. The DJ party at the hotel was top notch ,which followed a hearty dinner. The late night hours were utilized for exploring the nearby markets and stores for collecting some souvenirs as well as for general shopping.


    The third day was all devoted to the water activities located in the Coco beach.The soothing boat journey to the beach got its enchanting effect with the seagulls flying in the air as well as floating on the waves .The activities including jetski, banana ride, bummer ride,parasailing,scuba diving were adventurous as well as refreshing at the same time. The scuba instructors ,those who were interestingly  keralites,taught the basic lessons of the scuba diving like the jesters for moving down or up and so on. Many had participated in this activity and complementary videos were given by the scuba team. Some freelance instructors too provided their service to the team.The breakfast, included light snacks, and lunch  were provided within the boat.The dinner was from the Dive and Divine hotel.The rest of the evening was well spent for walk along the Baga beach and visiting the local markets.The last night was well spend by the students and teachers by  sitting in circle besides the serene calmness of the Baga beach and singing some melodies.


    The fourth day , marking the last day in Goa, was well spent with the trip to the Old Goa Church, and the Baga beach. After the breakfast ,the bus journey reached its  first  destination- the Old Goa Church. The Church highlighted the spiritual undercurrents of Goa ,especially the foreign influence, had ethereal altar and historically preserved  coffin of St Francis Xavier. Situated opposite to the church was the Archeological museum. The Museum uncovered the rich heritage of Goa as a whole with many antique artifacts. The subsequent ship cruise was a cherry on top for experiencing the exhilarating beauty of the evening. Sooner after that , the team reached the railway station to catch the train to Kerala.


    The last day included train travel back to Kerala. This day was like a slow savouring of the past few fabulous days. AS the journey started , it ended too by reaching the Kayamkulam Railway Station.
