Self Defence Training Programme: NSS in association with
Kerala Police

The
NSS unit of the college organized a three-day self-defense training program for
female volunteers from February 1st to February 3rd, in collaboration with the
Kerala Police Self Defense Wing, Alappuzha. The self-defense training program
is a flagship initiative of the Kerala Police aimed at equipping girls and
women with the skills to handle untoward situations while traveling or
outdoors. The training instills both mental and physical strength to help them
protect themselves in dangerous situations.
The
inaugural function was chaired by Dr. Sreejith Krishnan (NSS Program Officer)
and inaugurated by Smt. Shaija E S, Sub Inspector of Police, Haripad. Dr. P P
Smarmila (Principal) delivered the keynote address, while the welcome and vote
of thanks were extended by Kum Pooja Prakash Godke and Archa S (NSS
Volunteers). The training program introduction was conducted by Smt. Jyothi D.
Fifty girl volunteers actively participated in the program, which concluded at
4 pm on February 3rd, 2023. The program proved to be impactful, as evidenced by
the overall positive impact it had on the volunteers.
