Enhancing Employability through Educational
Collaborations: Career Guidance and Placement Cell in
association with the University Employment Information and
Guidance Bureau, Students Centre, University of Kerala

In
another initiative aimed at enhancing employability, the Career Guidance and
Placement Cell of TKMM College Nangiarkulangara, in association with the
University Employment Information and Guidance Bureau, Students Centre,
University of Kerala, Thiruvananthapuram, conducted a career orientation class
at the College Seminar Hall on February 20th, 2024. The program, held from 2 to
4 pm, began with a silent prayer, followed by a warm welcome extended by Smt.
Preetha M.V., Assistant Professor in History and Co-ordinator of Jeevani. Dr. P
P Sharmila, Principal, TKMM College, inaugurated the function and emphasized
the importance of such career orientation classes in helping individuals set
future goals and choose careers.
The
keynote address was delivered by Sri. Rajeev Kumar V.K., Deputy Chief, UEI
& GB, who provided insights into various opportunities available for
graduates and offered suggestions on how to pursue a successful career. The
orientation session, led by Sri. Ratheesh Kumar S, a Career Expert and Anchor
from Career Point - Doordarshan, focused on personal growth, interpersonal
effectiveness, and skills vital for placement and career development. The
interactive session saw active participation from 68 students, who benefited
from the expert guidance and updated career insights shared by the speakers.
The program received widespread appreciation and was concluded with a vote of
thanks by Dr. Divya Dinesh, Assistant Professor in Chemistry and Co-ordinator
of the Career Guidance and Placement Cell.
