Selection to RDC 2026- SGT Aswadev P T from Dept. of Mathematics got Selected to RDC

  


The Department of Mathematics proudly congratulates our second-year student, SGT Aswadev P.S., on his selection for the prestigious Republic Day Camp (RDC) 2026 at New Delhi. This remarkable achievement stands as a symbol of his continuous hard work, dedication, discipline, and perseverance.

Aswadev belongs to the 8(K) Battalion, Mavelikara, and earned this achievement after successfully completing various levels of training camps, selection procedures, practices, and competitions conducted at different stages. His consistent performance, commitment to NCC activities, and determination helped him secure a place among the selected cadets representing the Kerala-Lakshadweep Directorate.

He will also participate in national-level competitions along with cadets from the 17 NCC Directorates across India as part of the Republic Day celebrations in New Delhi. Being selected for RDC is considered one of the highest honours for an NCC cadet, reflecting exceptional leadership qualities, discipline, teamwork, and dedication towards the nation.

The department appreciates his sincere efforts and tireless practice which enabled him to achieve this prestigious recognition. His success is an inspiration to fellow students and a matter of great pride for the institution.

SGT Aswadev P.S. is the son of Sri. Prasad and Smt. Sandhya, Swapnalayam, Kaduvappara.

The Department of Mathematics wishes him all success and glory in the forthcoming national-level events and proudly celebrates his outstanding achievement .

TKMMC Nangiarkulangara Shines in Kerala University Intercollegiate Netball Championships

 













T.K. Madhava Memorial (T.K.M.M.) College, Nangiarkulangara, recently became the epicenter of collegiate sports action, hosting the prestigious Kerala University Intercollegiate Netball Championship for Men (2025-26), while simultaneously celebrating the massive achievements of their Women's Netball Team. Organized by the Department of Physical Education, the events highlighted the college's deep commitment to fostering athletic excellence. Here is a recap of the highlights and victories.

On February 11, 2026, the college grounds buzzed with energy as teams gathered for the Men’s Intercollegiate Netball Championship. The inaugural ceremony set a formal and encouraging tone for the tournament.

While the men battled it out on home turf, the TKMMC Women's Netball Team brought immense pride to the institution at the Kerala University Intercollegiate Netball Championship for Women, held in Trivandrum. The women's squad fought hard and secured the First Runners-Up position! Their phenomenal teamwork, hard work, and dedication paid off brilliantly, earning them well-deserved accolades and a gleaming trophy.

Special Recognitions: All-India Inter-University Participants

The college also took special pride in honoring several outstanding female athletes who went on to represent the university at the All-India level:

  • Gayathri D (3rd year B.A. English) - All India Inter-University Netball Championship

  • Sandra Elizabeth (2nd year B.A. English) - All India Inter-University Netball Championship

  • Karthika R (1st year B.Sc. Zoology) - All India Inter-University Netball Championship

  • Priyananda M (3rd year B.A. English) - All India Inter-University Netball Championship

  • Jithina A Jayan (3rd year B.Com CA) - All India Inter-University Weightlifting Championship

The successful hosting of the Men's Championship and the remarkable victory of the Women's team underscore T.K.M.M. College's robust sports culture. The Department of Physical Education, alongside the dedicated coaches and staff, has proven instrumental in shaping these young athletes.

The PTA meeting for S6 B.Sc. Mathematics Students was convened on February 09,2026 at 2.30 pm in Final year class room CG3 to discuss the academic progression to finalize the final year of students and to finalize the details of the upcoming department study tour. The meeting was presided over by the HOD and attended by class tutors, subject teachers and parents of the students.

The primary focus was on the performance of students in the S4 University examinations and internal assessments. The dept noted an improvement in the overall pass percentage compared to previous year.

As this is the final semester the study tour is a significant milestone for the batch. The following points were discussed and approved: Proposed date, Destination, Duration, Safety measures and financial coverings.

The meeting concluded at 4 pm with a positive note. Parents expressed their satisfaction with the academic rigor of the department and agreed to support the students during their final semester preparations.

Valakappu Celebration @ Dept. of Mathematics

 


                                                

The Department of Mathematics organized a beautiful and heartwarming “Valakappu” celebration for the faculty Smt. Renjini S on 9 February 2026. The programme was celebrated with great love, happiness, care, and togetherness by the faculty members and students of the department.

The celebration became a memorable occasion filled with joy and emotional warmth as all the teachers of the department, together with students from all the three classes, actively participated in the programme. The department was beautifully arranged for the occasion, creating a pleasant and festive atmosphere filled with smiles, happiness, and excitement.

A soft and sweet song played in the background throughout the programme, adding emotional beauty and warmth to the celebration. The melodious atmosphere created a touching and peaceful feeling for everyone present. Smt. Renjini S was pleasantly surprised and deeply moved by the love and care shown by the students and faculty members.

As part of the traditional Valakappu ceremony, students and teachers lovingly placed colourful bangles on the hands of Smt. Renjini S and offered sweets to her with affection and blessings. The joyful participation of the students added beauty and emotional value to the celebration. The occasion reflected the strong bond shared among teachers and students within the department.

The Head of the Department, Dr. Sinumol S, along with Dr. Dhanya Shajin, Ms. Kavitha Krishnan, Sri. M.K.Sreenivasan, Statistics faculty Sri. Sivaprasad P.S, and Malayalam faculty Sri. Abhilash Y actively participated in the programme and conveyed their heartfelt wishes and blessings to Smt. Renjini S. The faculty members shared sweets and celebrated the occasion together with the students, making the programme lively and memorable.

The Valakappu celebration became a beautiful and unforgettable occasion for everyone present. The programme reflected the values of love, affection, care, and mutual respect shared among the faculty members and students of the Department of Mathematics. Yuvavarnam - Arts Day @ Department of Mathematics

 



Department of Mathematics actively participated in the Arts Day celebrations of the college with great enthusiasm, creativity, and team spirit. The programme became a vibrant occasion filled with colours, music, art, cultural performances, and joyful participation from students across different departments.

The celebrations began with a colourful procession conducted as part of the Arts Day programme. The students participated with great excitement, creativity, and coordination, making the procession lively and attractive. Their innovative costumes, confident presentation, and energetic participation drew the attention and appreciation of the audience and added beauty to the overall celebrations.

Students of the department actively engaged in various cultural programmes and artistic events organized during the Arts Day celebrations. First-year students Ms. Sivani S. and Ms. Malavika M. participated enthusiastically in Thiruvathira, presenting the traditional dance form beautifully with grace, rhythm, and coordination. Their performance reflected Kerala’s rich cultural heritage and was appreciated by the audience.

The III B.Sc. Mathematics students Ms. Sreya Anil, Ms. Sneha, and Ms. Nimisha actively participated in Vanchippattu. Their energetic and synchronized performance captured the traditional spirit and cultural beauty of the art form and added vibrancy to the programme. The performance was well appreciated for its enthusiasm, unity, and presentation.

The Department of Mathematics participated actively in the celebrations and showcased the artistic talents and cultural spirit of its students. The department surroundings were filled with excitement, cheerful interactions, music, colourful costumes, and festive energy throughout the celebrations.

The Head of the Department, Dr. Sinumol S, encouraged and supported the students wholeheartedly in all the Arts Day activities and performances. The encouragement and motivation given by the faculty members inspired the students to participate confidently and actively in the celebrations.

The Arts Day celebrations became a memorable and joyful experience for the students of the Department of Mathematics. The programme highlighted the importance of art, culture, creativity, teamwork, and student participation in campus life and left behind beautiful memories for everyone involved.

ED EXPO 2026- Fashions Hug by Dept. of Mathematics

 




As part of ED EXPO 2026, the Department of Mathematics actively participated with innovative entrepreneurial initiatives aimed at developing creativity, leadership qualities, teamwork, and business skills among students. The programme provided students with a valuable platform to explore and experience entrepreneurship through practical activities and group participation.

The event was conducted on 4th February 2026 with enthusiastic participation from students of all batches. The third-year students of the department prepared and sold delicious food items including spicy Kaada Mutta and tangy Pani Puri. The items were completely prepared, organized, and managed by the students themselves. Their sincere effort, coordination, and teamwork made the food stall highly attractive and successful. The tasty food items received excellent appreciation from teachers, students, and staff members.

The second-year students organized a stall named “Fashions Hug”, which included a variety of fashionable and useful items such as dresses, dresses for kids, artificial jewellery, rings, hair clips, and stationery items for girls. The first-year students also actively cooperated in arranging and selling the products, making the programme a combined effort of all batches in the department.

The programme helped students develop several important qualities such as leadership, communication skills, self-confidence, team spirit, cooperation, responsibility, and entrepreneurial thinking. Such activities encourage students to become independent, creative, and socially active individuals capable of organizing and managing programmes effectively.

Teachers from various departments, office staff, and students of the college visited the stalls, purchased the products, and wholeheartedly supported the initiative. Their encouragement greatly motivated the students and contributed to the grand success of the programme.

The programme was formally inaugurated by Sri. Salikumar, RDC Convenor, at 11.00 a.m. The overall coordinator of ED EXPO 2026 was Smt. Nisha T.V., Department of Commerce. All faculty members of the Department of Mathematics extended their full support and guidance to the students for the smooth and successful conduct of the programme.

The Principal congratulated the students for their innovative ideas, dedication, and active participation, and appreciated the department for promoting entrepreneurship and leadership qualities among students through such meaningful initiatives.

The students collectively earned an amount of more than Rs. 10,000, making the programme a grand success. ED EXPO 2026 became a memorable experience for the students and an excellent example of how academic institutions can nurture entrepreneurial spirit, confidence, and leadership qualities among young minds.
