BA Economics PTA Meeting (2022 Admission Batch)

The Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) meeting for the BA Economics students of the 2022 admission batch was convened on September 13, 2023, at Department of Economics. The primary objective of this meeting was to analyze the internal marks of Semesters 1 and 2. It also provided a platform for open communication between parents, students, and teachers.

The meeting commenced with a warm welcome by Dr. Rajeev S. R., Head, Department of Economics. His introductory remarks set a positive tone for the meeting, emphasizing the importance of collaboration between parents and educators.

Dr. P. P. Sharmila, the Principal delivered an insightful address, highlighting the significance of parental involvement in a student's academic journey. She encouraged parents to actively participate in their child's education.

Dr. Satish Kumar S, the HoD of Political Science, shared valuable insights on the interdisciplinary nature of the social sciences and how students can benefit from a holistic education. Lieutenant Seena V, Asst. Professor of Economics added a unique perspective by speaking about the importance of discipline, time management, and leadership in a student's life. Her experiences in the armed forces resonated with both students and parents.

Smt. Preetha M. V., the tutor for the BA Economics batch, provided practical advice on effective study habits, stress management, and the importance of balancing academics with extracurricular activities. Dr. Parvati U, Assistant Professor, Department of English, discussed the significance of language skills in academic success and future career prospects. Smt. Nisha T. V., a parent and also an Assistant Professor in the Department of Commerce, shared her perspective on the challenges and opportunities that students may encounter in their academic journey.

After the guest addresses, the meeting transitioned into a detailed discussion on the internal marks of Semesters 1 and 2. Teachers and students shared their insights on the academic progress of the students. Parents had the opportunity to ask questions, seek clarifications, and provide feedback. 

The meeting was attended by parents of 44 students and it served as a valuable platform for dialogue and collaboration among parents, students, and educators. It emphasized the importance of a holistic approach to education and the role of parents in supporting their children's academic journey. The analysis of internal marks allowed for a transparent evaluation of students' performance and identified areas for improvement.

The event concluded with a positive note on renewed commitment from all stakeholders to work together in ensuring the academic success and overall development of the BA Economics students of the 2022 admission batch.
