Youth Vs Garbage
T.K. Madhava Memorial College, Nangiarkulangara
joined hands with the ‘Indian Swachhata
League’ 2.0 of Haripad municipality, Alappuzha. The venture stands as India's
first inter-city competition led by youth towards building Garbage Free Cities
under Swachh Bharat Mission-Urban 2.0. The association of NSS team (National
Service Scheme) and ISL(Indian Swachhata League ) will surely contribute
towards the making our city clean and garbage free.
The
official launch of the ISL Second season
was done with a flash mob conducted by the students of Department of
Economics viz. Chaitra P Baiju, Nandana B, Priyadev P , Mithun M, Sandra PR
, Sandra Harikumar, Anamika PV
Devanandana RS, and two NSS volunteers
viz Aditya and Deva Chandana on 17th
September 2023. The ISL venture was inaugurated by Naga Das, health standing
committee chairman, Haripad
Municipality. Henceforth the Youth versus garbage campaign Haripad Municipality.
The programme was enriched by the esteemed presence of the officials of Haripad Municipality, Jr. health inspector Manoj Kumar, Veena Kumari, Revathi, councillors like Sreelatha, Subhashini, Manju Shaji, Programme Officers Sanoop Sivaraman, Dr Sreejith Krishnan, Preetha M.V., Assistant Professor, Department of History and Suchitwa Mission workers and officials, cleaning staffs etc.
Along with flash mob, volunteers formed cleanliness chain in Haripad
KSRTC stand, Nangiarkulangara Junction with placards and banners. The student
team campaigned the public to make the surroundings clean and garbage free.
