On
July 5, 2024, the newly admitted FYUGP students in various streams at TK
Madhava Memorial College, Nangiarkulangara, gathered in the College seminar
hall for an orientation program on selection of MDC's and AEC's. Divided into
two sessions, Dr. Anuji, Assistant Professor in the Department of Commerce, led
the first session from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., introducing students from all
streams (BA, BSc, BCom) to Multi-Disciplinary Courses (MDCs). Each Course
Coordinator shared the benefits of their respective courses, helping students
make informed decisions.
The
MDC Resource Persons included various faculty members from different streams
such as Botany, Chemistry, Commerce, English, History, Malayalam, Mathematics,
Physics, and Political Science, who presented their courses, offering valuable
insights to the students. Following this, students filled out Google Forms to
choose their MDC, completing the process by 12:30 p.m. Then, they were guided
to their parent department by their respective tutors.
The
second session, beginning at 2 p.m., focused on Ability Enhancement Courses
(AECs). The Course Coordinators of AECs presented their respective courses and
their benefits for the students' academic excellence. They also addressed any
queries raised by the students and provided links for Google form to select
their AECs. Course Coordinators and Tutors were available for doubt clearance
and assistance, ensuring that all students completed their selection by 3:30
p.m. The session concluded after this, providing students with a clearer
