Reporter Edu-Tech Conclave @ Alappuzha
December 9, 2023
Alappuzha district level conclave of EduTech-Conclave
series organized by Reporter TV with support of Talrop for management level and
academic level representatives of campuses was held on December 9 at Alappuzha
Pathirapally Camelot Convention Center.
TKMM College was represented on this occasion by Smt.
Savitha E V, Assistant Professor of Chemistry & Smt. Navya Raj, Assistant
Professor on contract of Physical Education,as a part of IQAC.
The conclave aims to present the merits and demerits
of the current education system by subjecting them to detailed debates and
further discussions and submitting solutions.
At a time when knowledge in technology is becoming as
important as life air, the conclave aims to introduce Kerala to the model of
professional education demanded by today's world market by bringing together
prominent educationalists, educational activists, edu-entrepreneurs, senior
journalists, selected school-college management representatives and academic
representatives of Alappuzha district.
Our academic system is designed keeping in mind the
objective of not only getting a job but also getting an education, but also to
enable the student to attain a secure career. But the reality is that even
those who have got the highest rank are not able to shine in the career field.
This is due to lack of opportunity to acquire
education as required by the industry. That is, the things learned are not useful
for getting employment. This is the industry-academia gap. Some additions are
necessary in our educational field to complete the education by getting
familiar with the industry and getting practical training.
Our Kerala has become a state with 40.5 percent
unemployed youth (Periodic Labor Force Survey released by the National
Statistical Office). A large majority of the youth community facing
unemployment are those who have great educational qualifications and are not
acceptable in the field of employment. Some of the shortcomings of the
education acquired and the way of getting education are behind the
unacceptability in the field of work despite having great educational
qualifications.
Most of the talented candidates are migrating to other
countries in search of jobs that demand their talents. Kerala's youth migrates
to countries with more job opportunities where they are paid more in a more
valuable currency. Unicorn companies that can provide employment that ensures
decent wages and dignity can provide a solution to the brain drain.
