"Arts and Humanities in the Age of Artificial 

Intelligence"

The Department of English, TKMM College, Nangiarkulangara, Haripad, Alappuzha, as a part of the Darshan 2023 Multidisciplinary Seminar Series, conducted a lecture on the topic “Arts and Humanities in the Age of Artificial Intelligence” on January 4, 2024, at the Seminar Hall. This was also the first collaborative programme as part of the MoU signed between the Department of English, TKMM College and the Department of English, MSM College, Kayamkulam.

The session began at 10.30 am with an invocation by Makarand Maheswar V S, of II BA English. The welcome address was delivered by Dr Parvathy U, Coordinator and Assistant Professor, Department of English. Dr. Sharmila P.P., Principal, TKMM College, Nangiarkulangara, delivered the presidential address, which was followed by the felicitation by Dr. Rajeev S. R., Associate Professor and Head, Department of Economics. Ms. Amrutha P of II B.A. English introduced the keynote speaker, Dr. Arshad Ahammad A, Assistant Professor and Research Supervisor, Department of English, MSM College, Kayamkulam, to the audience.

          Thereafter, Dr Arshad Ahammed A delivered the keynote address on the topic “Arts and Humanities in the Age of Artificial Intelligence”. Starting with the basic concepts of AI, he moved on to discuss the scope for AI in the humanities field and also elucidated how Artificial Intelligence is transforming every aspect of our society. 

Smt. Soumya V S, Assistant Professor and Head, Department of English and Member, IQAC, concluded the session by delivering the vote of thanks.
