Disha Unveiled: A Grand Inauguration at TKMM College

    On the eagerly expected day of January 15th, Monday, the halls of TKMM College echoed with excitement as the much-awaited inauguration ceremony of College Union 2023-24 unfolded. The event commenced with a warm welcome extended to the esteemed General Secretary, Adwaith B, with Union Chairman Pooja Prakash Godke presiding over the proceedings.

    

    The ceremonial lighting of the lamp, a symbol of knowledge and enlightenment, was conducted by the distinguished poet Sri. Vayalar Sarath Chandra Varma and MLA Mr. Arun Kumar, both of whom graced the occasion as chief guests. Vayalar Sarath Chandra Varma, a renowned Malayalam lyricist and poet, is the son of the late Vayalar Ramavarma. His debut in the Malayalam film industry in 1990 marked the beginning of a prolific career. On the other hand, Mr. M. S. Arun Kumar, the current MLA of Mavelikkara Constituency, has been serving in this capacity since May 2021.

    The unveiling of the name of College Union 2023-24, Disha, meaning direction in Malayalam, was a momentous occasion facilitated by Mr. M. S. Arun Kumar and Vayalar Sarath Chandra Varma. The Arts Club found its official inauguration at the hands of the esteemed poet Vayalar Sarath Chandra Varma, while the union was inaugurated by MLA M. S. Arun Kumar.

    The event witnessed greetings from notable dignitaries, including Dr. P. P. Sharmila (College Principal), Dr. Rajeev (Head of the Economics Department), Mrs. Savita EV (Staff Association Secretary), and Mr. Peethambaran R (Office Superintendent). The role of the vice-chairperson of the union, Parvathy Venugopal, was significant in expressing gratitude and delivering a heartfelt vote of thanks.

    The grand inauguration of Disha marked the beginning of a new chapter at TKMM College, setting the direction for a vibrant and dynamic journey ahead.
