 Celebrating Womanhood: International Women's Day at TK Madhava Memorial College


    On the auspicious morning of March 7, 2024, the corridors of TK Madhava Memorial College resonated with empowerment and inspiration as the Women Empowerment Cell organized a grand celebration in honor of International Women's Day. The college seminar hall, adorned with splashes of vibrant colors, served as the perfect setting for the uplifting event.



    The ceremony commenced with a soul-stirring invocation by the Women Empowerment Cell choir, filling the atmosphere with serenity and positivity. Ms. Sarsha T S, the Convenor of WEC and an Assistant Professor in English, extended a warm welcome to the esteemed gathering, setting the tone for the day's festivities.






    Dr. P P Sharmila, the principal of TK Madhava Memorial College, graced the occasion with her presidential address, emphasizing the importance of recognizing and honoring the invaluable contributions of women in society. The highlight of the event was the presence of Dr. Bindu D, a renowned writer, orator, and retired Assistant Professor, whose illustrious career spanning over 19 years exemplifies the epitome of women's empowerment.





    A token of honor was presented to Dr. Bindu D, symbolizing gratitude and appreciation for her remarkable achievements and unwavering dedication to the cause of women's empowerment. The gesture was made by Dr. S Sheela, the Head and Associate Professor in Zoology, underscoring the collective admiration and respect for the esteemed guest.


    Ms. S Renjini, the Head and Assistant Professor of the Department of Mathematics , eloquently delivered the vote of thanks, expressing heartfelt gratitude to all who contributed to the success of the event. The presence of esteemed faculty members, including Ms. Savitha E V, Dr. Sreeja V, and Dr. Sasank Kumar, added to the significance of the celebrations, reflecting the college's unwavering commitment to fostering an inclusive and empowering environment for all.




    Amidst the jubilant atmosphere, every member of the Women Empowerment Cell stood as a beacon of strength and resilience, embodying the spirit of womanhood and unity. The event concluded on a high note, with Mr. Govardhan, a student of BA English, capturing precious moments through his lens, immortalizing the spirit of camaraderie and empowerment that permeated throughout the celebration.
